Triumph Sprint ST review

The Triumph Sprint ST fantastic 1050ccm fuel injected three-cylinder engine, the very essence of what makes a Triumph special. The machine has huge reserves of torque for linear effortless drive in any gear and great reserves of horsepower for when its needed. Peak power is an impressive 127PS at 9260rpm while peak torque of 105Nm arrives @ 7600rpm. Enhancing the engine is a buttery smooth six speed gearbox and clutch fitted with an anti backlash gear. The character of the three-cylinder layout is unfettered but the engine has a seamless polish that provides a perfect counterpoint to the lusty power delivery. The Sprint ST comes with Triumphs second generation Keihin Engine Control Unit, with more sophisticated mapping for quicker starting, cleaner running and better fuel economy.

Triumph Sprint ST

Matching the Sprint ST sublime engine is a superb chassis. An aluminium beam frame, featuring a wheelbase of 1457mm, makes for a fabulously composed yet fast-steering motorcycle with a huge scope of ability. Highest quality 43 mm cartridge type telescopic fork, adjustable for spring preload, give fine control while the rear shock is remotely adjustable for spring preload. A pair of powerful 4 piston brake calipers mated to 320mm floating discs provide superb stopping power, a two piston caliper and 255mm disc work on the rear wheel.
The Triumph Sprint ST sleek look is everywhere neat touches and both functional and stunning, like the chrome infill bars and front indicators set in the mirrors. The side panels have been designed to provide thermal insulations for the rider while the seat is easy to straddle at standstill as well as providing the comfort factors. The high pulled back handlebars have been tailored to give a relaxed riding position. Styling cues, such as the triple front headlights, triple exhaust exits and LED rear light complement each other fluidly and the SprintST has the cohesive air of a machine that mixes function and form perfectly.
