Seat Altea XL Electric Ecomotive unveiled

Plug-in hybrid confirmed for 2015

Seat has unveiled their first electric vehicle, the Altea XL Electric Ecomotive prototype.
Developed for fleet use, the model has an electric motor that produces 115 PS (85 kW / 114 hp) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the car to hit a top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph) and travel up to 135 km (84 miles) on a single charge.
It, along with the previously unveiled Leon TwinDrive Ecomotive prototype, will be made available to government institutions - in Catalonia and Madrid - in the coming months.
As part of the announcement, Seat also confirmed plans to launch a production plug-in hybrid in 2015. It will be followed by an electric vehicle a year later.
