Volvo is downplaying speculation about a flagship model, following the introduction of the Universe concept at the Shanghai Auto Show.
In an interview with Automotive News, Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby said "(A flagship) is not in our midterm or long-term strategy right now." He added, "It is too early to enter the S-class size market. We are concentrating with our new products on our core segments."
While that's a tad disappointing, it is refreshing to know Volvo is focused on improving their 'bread and butter' models before moving up market.
