So here is the Husaberg FE550, sitting in front of me in all its glory. This is the result of a bunch of Swedish exHusqvarna employees starting up a small company in 1987 after the Italians bought their brand. It was a lighter weight and more-aggressive 4-stroke than anyone thought possible, and definitely an eyeopener to the Japanese manufacturers at the time, with their aircooled XRs, DRs and TTs. The Husaberg FE550 wasnt conventional, and much of that uniqueness still lives on today.
Truth be told, there was a reason KTM bought the brand just before building its Racing Four Stroke. And now Husabergs are built in the same factory as KTMs, though the technical development still takes place in Sweden. Perfect bikes for fast trail riding, simple and use specific. With a smaller fuel tank it would work well in a motocross setting. Very stable in whoops and it turns well, very well on the front wheel. Once the sag is set the stock setting work very well for tough gnarly sections as well as sandy sweepers. Has a very European set up for the rider which translates into a competive style of handling. The motor is the best 4-stroke ever designed. It is capable of any input by the rider and the power is unlimited. More specs and user manual of Husaberg FE you can see in next overview.
