Vincent Black Lightning review

Vincent Black Lightning

This is Vincent Black Lightning was the first one in the USA. This motorcycle when owned by Joe Simpson, held the American motorcycles speed records three times. The first being unsupercharged and the following two being super charged. The bike was ridden by both Marty Dickerson and Joe Simpson. From the gloss black finish of the engine cases to the chrome rimmed upright speedometer and all the parts precisely torqued in place elsewhere, there is not a sign of illfitting tool abuse or stains from years of grime and use - the usual traits of age. The burble and rustle of moving parts aren`t smothered by the healthy exhaust note. TheVincent Black Lightning uses an air-cooled 998cc 50-degree V-twin with a claimed output of 55hp.

Cheap Chinese trail bikes might have stronger front brakes, but then they are about half the weight of the Lightning. Left foot has to work the two rear brake drums - an alien concept that results in foot resting on the brake as pull from a junction only to stall it. Time to put into practice those forgotten preachings of starting a Vincent. More specs and user manual of Black Lightning you can see in next overview.
