The Buell Blast is a very good beginner motorcycle, although it is a tad basic compared to other bikes in it is class. Buell is a branch of the Harley Davidson company that makes sport bikes instead of cruisers. People are very passionate about the type of motorcycle they like, usually they either love sports bikes, or they love Harleys. That makes the Buell family of bikes something of an odd duck in the two wheeled world.
While Harley and Buells Harley-based engines have long been synonymous with V-twins, Harley initially produced single-cylinder motorcycles as an alternative mode of transportation to the automobile. To achieve a target price point for the Blast, the engineers took a Sportster engine and lopped off the rear cylinder. The Blast Buell uses a newly designed engine that`s closely based on the architecture of the Sportsters. The Buell Blast is a machines that represents everything there is to love about sport riding.
The Blast is designed to be narrow and easy to handle with a minimum of effort from its rider. Low-maintenance means more time to ride and less worrying about mechanical details that often seem intimidating. New riders often have their hands full just remembering where the different controls are, let alone worrying about maintenace issues such as valve adjustments. A lot of this new Blast motorcycle is about ease of use: the valve-train utilizes self-adjusting hydraulic lifters that eliminate any need for mechanical tuning and the carb is equipped with an automatic fuel enricher.
